He was born on 22 November 1827 at New York, NY. He was the son of Henry Baruch Bolster and Sarah Maria Chilson. Henry Clay Bolster was baptized on 13 January 1838 at Manhattan Reformed Dutch Church, NYC, FHL Film #961900 (1829-1873.).
