Born January 20, 1794; died February 22, 1857, at Warrington, Va. Married (1) Nancy Day, who died about 1838; married (2) Mrs. (???) Tomlinson.

iv. Mary Elizabeth, d. March, 1897; m. William Warder Higgins,
M.D., b. Nov. 11, 1810; d. Aug. 5, 1897. Dr. Higgins was
born on a farm near Lexington, Ky., which was granted to
his grandfather for service in the Revolutionary War. He
was of Scotch-Irish descent on both sides. He graduated from
Transylvania University in 1832; in 1863 in search of health,
he went up the Missouri River with Gen. Sully as contract
surgeon, and in 1864 returned, having penetrated as far as
Deer Lodge, Mont., and from that time was identified with
that state.

2. Alice Denniston Higgins, b. 1853; m. Capt. William
Krause, b. 1846, at Harrisburg, Pa., youngest son of
Judge David Krause; graduate of West Point, 1865;
d. Jan. 4, 1901. She m. (2) Brig. Gen. Charles W.
Raymond, U. S. A. No issue.
3. Arthur Sterrett Higgins, b. 1856; d. Oct. 2, 1896, unm.
4. Irwin Warder Higgins, b. April, 1859; m. Alma Margaret
Bedenburg of Deer Lodge, Mont., Nov., 1898. No issue.
