Stanley Richard Dmochowski Stanley R. Dmochowski, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Friday, July 11 of cancer at the Rosenthal Hospice Residence. He was 81.
Born April 22, 1922 in Stamford, he was a son of the late Frank and Blanche (Ciesielski) Dmochowski. He grew up in the city's South End where he attended Holy Name School and graduated from Stamford High in 1939.
During WW II Dmochowski served in the 882nd Signal Corps attached to the Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant. He was stationed in Australia and the Philippines. He worked for the City of Stamford as Sealer of Weights and Measures and later as an Inspector with the Health Department, retiring in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Olive Cooper Dmochowski, two children, Richard Dmochowski and his wife, Karen of Fairfield and Diane Pittman of Alpharetta, Georgia; three granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Dmochowski and Charlotte Jachimczyk, both of Stamford, and three generations of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Lucian Dmochowski of Camp Hill Pennsylvania.
A Funeral Service will be held [11 AM Monday (EXACT SCHEDULE TO BE CONFIRMED) ]at the Gerald R. Bosak Funeral Home, Stamford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, Shelburne Road and West Broad Street, Stamford, CT 06902. He was buried on 13 July 2003 at Saint john's Cemetery Camp Avenue, Stamford, CT.
