Simon Joseph Petitjean immigrated to Aboard the ship "Fides", departing Antwerp 3 July 1855 and landing at New York 17 August 1855.2 He began military service at U.S. Civil War, Co H 34th Wisconsin Infantry, enlisted 28 November 1862, deserted 31 January 1863.1 He was Marital Status at Never married.1 Simon Joseph Petitjean was also known as Simeon Joseph Petitjean. He was born on 22 March 1830 at Beauvechain, Brabant, Belgium.1 He was the son of Melchoir Joseph Petitjean and Marie Barbe Cesar. Simon Joseph Petitjean appeared on the census of 1880 in the household of Victor Delimont at Fairfield, Harlan, NE, USA.3
